Softball to Host Strike Out Cancer Night Against Delaware Valley

Pride host annual games to raise funds for McDowell family as it faces treatment battle of cancer

CHESTER, Pa. — The Widener University softball team will host its annual Strike Out Cancer Night on Tuesday, April 12 when the Pride take on Delaware Valley at the Widener University softball field. First pitch for the doubleheader is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

Every year, the softball team looks to assist a family going through the treatment battle of cancer. This year's Strike Out Cancer efforts will benefit the McDowell family.
 
The team will be selling T-shirts and 50/50 tickets to raise funds for the Jimmy V Foundation and the and the Ann B. Barshinger Center at Lancaster General Health to help with their work on curing colon cancer. T-shirts cost $15 each and 50/50 tickets are $1 per ticket and $10 per arm length. T-shirts and 50/50 tickets can only be purchased with cash.
