CAMDEN, N.J. - A tightly contested opener slipped away in extras before Rutgers-Camden carried momentum into game two to complete the sweep.
Widener Softball drops to 12-24 on the season and remains 4-8 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
Widener jumped out to an early lead in the first inning as Hernandez and Ferraro delivered back-to-back doubles, with Ferraro driving in the game's first run. Mayorga followed with an RBI single to give the Pride a 2-0 advantage
Rutgers-Camden answered immediately in the bottom half, using a triple and an RBI single to even the score at 2-2
After a scoreless stretch, the Scarlet Raptors took their first lead in the fourth inning, capitalizing on a Widener error to plate two unearned runs and go ahead 4-2
The Pride chipped away in the fifth as Ferraro came through again with an RBI double to cut the deficit to one
Widener tied the game in the sixth inning when Danz doubled and later scored with Taylor Bell pinch running, on an RBI groundout by Flavin, making it 4-4
Both teams were held in check late, forcing extra innings, but Rutgers-Camden capitalized in the bottom of the eighth with a sacrifice fly to walk it off and take game one, 5-4

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
Rutgers-Camden struck first in the second inning, using three hits and a bases-loaded walk to take an early 1-0 lead
The Scarlet Raptors added to their advantage in the third with an RBI double, extending the lead to 2-0
Widener threatened in the fifth, loading the bases behind singles from Flavin, Sissons, and Hernandez, but Rutgers-Camden escaped the inning without allowing a run
Rutgers-Camden broke things open in the bottom half of the fifth, capitalizing on walks and timely hitting to score two runs and push the lead to 4-0
The Raptors tacked on another run in the sixth on an RBI groundout, extending the margin to 5-0
Widener got on the board in the seventh as Flavin singled and eventually scored on an RBI fielder's choice from Hernandez, but the late push wasn't enough as Rutgers-Camden secured the 5-1 victory
