GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Widener field hockey team played hard against Arcadia on Wednesday night, but the host Knights scored a goal in overtime to win by a 3-2 count in their non-conference game at Arcadia University.

With the loss, the Pride dropped to 7-4 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST ARCADIA
- After Arcadia got on the scoreboard first with 42 seconds left in the third quarter, the Pride opened the fourth quarter with a goal by Maddie Hoyer in the first minute to tie the game. Makenzie Adamson assisted on Hoyer's goal.
- Eight minutes later, the Pride grabbed a 2-1 lead after Jesse Schlosser scored her first goal of the season. However, Arcadia tied the game 26 seconds after Schlosser's goal to force overtime.
- In the extra period, the Knights found the back of the cage five minutes into play to earn the victory.
- Hoyer led the Pride with three shots, two of which were on goal.
- Defensively, Lily Rejrat did her best in goal, making five saves.

Widener will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts Lebanon Valley in a MAC Commonwealth contest. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
