Women's @WidenerXCTF Tied For First After Day One of MAC Championships

CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University women's track and field team competed in day one of the MAC Championships on Thursday. The Pride is currently tied with two other schools for the lead at 19 points.
 
The 4x800 meter team of Carly Gable, Sarah Groetz, Jaden Sweely, and Maia Semmes took gold in the event with a combined time of 9:31.05.
 
In the hammer throw, Anna Cooney finished second, recording a distance of 43.61 meters.
 
Grace Murphy placed eighth in the 10,000 meters, crossing the finish line in 39:18.06.
 
Widener returns to action tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. for day two of the MAC Championships.
