CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University women's track and field team hosted and competed in its second MAC Only Meet of the season on Saturday.

For the third straight week,
Anna Cooney cleaned up in the throwing events. She took gold in both the hammer throw and shot put with distances of 47.93 and 12.93 meters, respectively.

In the sprints and sprint-hurdles,
Maia Semmes placed first in the 400 meters, clocking in at 1:02.41.
Theresa Kervick also took first in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:11.11.
Angelica Howell's time of 26.91 seconds in the 200 meters was good for second.

Emily Hoegler took gold in the 1500 meters, crossing the finish line in 5:08.00. In the 3000 meter steeplechase,
Emily Cooney secured second with a time of 12:49.64.

In the 5000 meters,
Grace Murphy, Gabriella Nye, and
Carly Gable took the top three spots with times of 18:22.39, 18:23.41, and 18:24.07, respectively.

In the 4x100 meter relay, Widener came in second with a combined time of 52.07 seconds.

Widener returns to action on Sunday, April 18 when it hosts its third MAC Only Meet.
