CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University women's track and field team hosted day one of its first MAC only meet at Quick Stadium on Friday evening.

After picking up first place in the hammer throw at the Monarch Invitational at King's last Saturday, Anna Cooney again grabbed gold in the event with a distance of 46.76 meters, a mark good for first in the conference and fifth in all of NCAA Division III.

In the 10,000 meter, Grace Murphy placed second, clocking in at 39:47:40.

Widener returns to action tomorrow at 10 a.m. for day two of the MAC only meet.
