CHESTER, Pa. – Cole Nagle posted his second consecutive game with double-digit kills, but the Widener University men's volleyball team was upended in its Middle Atlantic Conference opener 3-0 against Messiah on Friday night.
 
MATCH NOTES (20-25, 20-25, 12-25)

• Nagle posted 10 kills for the second straight match, hitting .182 for the evening.
• Ian Devore added five kills and had two blocks.
• Wil Cacciatore had a solid day with five digs, three kills, and three aces.
• Zac Piotti contributed with a pair of kills and a trio of blocks.
• The first set was the closest in the match. A tight contest with neither team holding more than a two-point lead through the midway point, the Falcons connected on a 5-1 run to go up 19-14. Widener rallied to pull to 20-22, but Messiah finished off the set with three in a row.

Widener is back in action on Tuesday, February 11 when it travels to Immaculata. Opening serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
