IMMACULATA, Pa. – After a slow start, the Widener University men's volleyball team won the final three sets as the Blue and Gold downed Immaculata 3-1 in a non-conference match on Tuesday evening.

MATCH NOTES (21-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-16)
- Josh Matchett led the Pride, setting career-highs in assists (34), digs (15), and service aces (five), notching his first career double-double.
- Ian Devore recorded a personal best 16 kills and hit .258 for the contest.
- Wil Cacciatore made the most of his opportunities, hitting .400, notching 11 kills and only one error in 25 swings.
- Cole Nagle and Connor Johnson each came through defensively with 10 digs.
- Matt Blaum had seven kills and five aces.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a tough opening set, Widener found its footing in the second as the Pride jumped on top 11-5 and steadily pulled away the remainder of the frame, hitting .290 for the stanza.
- A tighter third set followed as Widener took the early lead, but never was on top by more have a handful of points. Up by a point, kills by Blaum and Devore helped to seal the game.
- Leading 5-4, the Blue and Gold went on a 7-1 run, taking a 12-5 advantage. Immaculata pulled back to 14-13 before the Pride pulled away, using a 11-3 spurt to close the match.
