@WidenerEsports Continues Strong Play in Philly Aces Tournament

Continuing play in the Philadelphia Aces Esports Tournament, Widener University picked up a win in the first match of the evening with a 3-0 victory against Arcadia, taking game one 5-0, winning the second by an 8-0 final, before claiming the third match 8-2.
 
The Pride was represented by Jack "therm" Merhar, Ethan "Mixo" Monroe, and Kyle "Scoob" Samber.
 
In the opening game, Widener scored a minute in as therm notched the first goal of the contest. After therm scored again, back-to-back goals by Mixo pushed the lead to 4-0. With four seconds remaining, therm came through with his third overall tally and his second aerial score of the game, cementing the final score.
 
The second game saw the Pride get on the board first just a 1:33 in with therm opening the scoring. The middle portion of the game belonged to Scoob who scored four times. Every player scored for the Blue and Gold who was able to hold on to the shutout thanks to a save with 20 seconds left from Scoob, cutting across the goal line at the last second to deflect the Arcadia shot.
 
therm got the scoring going just 21 seconds left into the third game with an aerial shot off a feed from Mixo. In the next 77 seconds, Scoob scored three times, the second off a feed from therm and the third coming off a turnover, going up 4-0. After Arcadia got its first goal of the contest, Widener pulled away.
 
In the late match of the evening, in a battle between two of the best teams in the tournament, Widener once again prevailed, using strong play to beat Messiah 3-0.

The Pride has now won all nine games it has played in the tournament.
