CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University men's volleyball team bested its program record for aces in a single match as the Pride toppled the Rosemont Ravens 25-7, 25-12, 25-14 on Thursday night. The Blue and Gold improves to 2-0 on the season.

MATCH NOTES
- Widener posted 23 aces for the match, nine better than its previous record of 14, set against York (N.Y.) last year.
- Alex Arnow set an individual Pride record with eight aces. He also added five kills.
- Wil Cacciatore had eight kills and seven aces, adding three digs. He hit .429 in the contest.
- Josh Matchett led Widener with 20 assists.
- Dylan Beer found his way onto the stat sheet with three kills and three aces.
- Nine different players recorded a kill in the match. Six had a dig and six had an ace.
- Dom Johnson led the defense with two blocks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first set, WU seized control early, ripping off 14 consecutive points on Cacciatore's serve.
- The Pride went up 8-0 in the second and never led by less than seven the remainder of the set.
- Leading 9-5 in the third, Arnow went on serve and promptly delivered five consecutive aces a part of a 9-0 run.
