CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University men's lacrosse team out-groundballed the number one team in the MAC Commonwealth, Stevenson University, on Friday night, but the Pride fell to the Mustangs by a final score of 18-9.

How it happened
- Despite trailing 8-2 after the first quarter, the Pride was able to cut it to a reachable margin at the 4:19 mark in the second.
- Jason Higgins and Gavin Kirkwood teamed up on Widener's sixth goal and WU found themselves down by just five with plenty of time left to play.
- One right before the half and another after the intermission from Stevenson widened the gap to seven.
- Connor Ball and Paz Gismondi supplied the seventh and eighth points for the Pride in the third quarter.
- Defensive strategy on both sides in the final quarter limited scoring opportunities, resulting in three goals in the last 15 minutes.
