OWINGS MILLS, Md. –
Devan Rimmer dropped a season-high 35 points, but the Widener University women's basketball team fell to Stevenson in an 81-74 battle on Saturday afternoon.
Both offenses came out strong in the opening quarter, putting up 44 combined points. Widener was down 14 at one point in the second quarter, but the Pride narrowed the deficit to 10 before the intermission.
Rimmer hit a three with 49 seconds remaining in the third to cut Stevenson's lead to five. Mustang free throws in the closing seconds of the third quarter stretched Stevenson's advantage to nine entering the fourth. WU went on a 9-0 run late in the quarter and only trailed by four with two minutes left in regulation. That was the closest the Pride came to knotting the score as Stevenson held off the comeback effort, securing the victory.

- Rimmer finished with 35 points, hitting six three-pointers in the process. She also led the team in steals with four
- Natalie Galle recorded a career-high seven points. The freshman went five-for-six from the charity stripe
- Madison Ireland put up eight points and five assists
- WU shot 47 percent from beyond the arc
- The Pride outrebounded the Mustangs 45-38
