JAMAICA, N.Y. – The Widener University men's volleyball team enjoyed its most successful day as a program as the Pride swept a tri-match against Medgar Evers and York (N.Y.) by identical 3-0 scores on Saturday afternoon.
 
BY THE NUMBERS

• A.J. Sungenis had 26 kills in the two matches and hit .316 on the day.
• Wil Cacciatore had 10 kills in each match, hitting .235.
• Matt Blaum was also in double digits in kills for the two matches with 13.
• Connor Johnson had 14 digs while Billy Barclay notched 12 and Cacciatore had 10.
• Kyle Minder led the Pride with five blocks.

 
NOTES VS. MEDGAR EVERS (25-15, 25-18, 25-22)

• Cacciatore led Widener with 10 kills in the match, also posting an ace and a block. Sungenis and Blaum each had eight.
• Minder had four of the nine Pride blocks.
• As a team, the Blue and Gold hit .183 including a match high .250 in the final set.

 
NOTES VS. YORK (25-16, 25-15, 25-18)

• Sungenis had 18 kills and hit .455 for the match, adding five digs.
• Cacciatore came up one dig shy of a double-double with 10 kills and nine digs.
• Widener recorded nine aces, four by Barclay.
• The Pride hit a season-best .325 in the match with 40 kills and just 14 errors in 80 swings. The team hit .474 in the opening set and .370 in the second.
