CHESTER, Pa. – The Widener University men's swimming team swept every event as the Pride downed the Stevenson Mustangs 214-20 in the season opener on Saturday afternoon.

Several Pride swimmers won multiple events on the day. Topping the list was
Aaron Green who claimed victory in the 100 backstroke in 56.27. Later he won both the 50 and 100 free, touching the wall in 21/24 and 47.15 respectively. He was also part of the winning squad in the 200 medley relay as he was joined by
Nick Masciandaro,
John Porter Luksic, and
Martin Bohdan to finish in 1:40.80.

Masciandaro won two events, finishing first in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:07.39 before taking the 200 IM in 2:12.11. Luskic also had two individual event wins, placing in the top spot in the 100 and 200 meter breaststroke with 1:03.12 and 2:17.54 respectively. He also swam the anchor leg of the 200 free relay where he was joined by
Chris Fleming,
Sam Smith, and
Paolo Cortez to finish in 1:34.13.

Bohdan was victorious in the 200 freestyle at 1:48.35 as well as the 100 fly with his time of 56.00.

Widener returns to action on Saturday, October 20 when it competes against York (Pa.), Mary Washington, and Franklin & Marshall at the F&M Quad.
