PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 15, 2017) – Senior 
Justin Healey (Ocean City, N.J.) hit two home runs and drove in three runs to help lead the Widener University baseball team to an 4-3 victory in 10 innings over Arcadia in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The Knights rallied to win the nightcap by a 3-2 score to earn the split.
Third basemen Luke Hohenstein got Arcadia on the board first in the third inning with a single up the middle, however, Healey fought back with a solo shot over the fence to drive in two runs and put the Pride ahead 2-1. There were two more scoreless frames until the seventh when junior 
Kyle Lowery (Norristown, Pa.) advanced to home on a wild pitch. 
Arcadia didn't let down by scoring two more runs of their own to tie the game 3-3 and extend the game into extra innings. The Pride had an opportunity in the eighth to take the lead when sophomore 
Stephen DeBellis (Marlton, N.J.) attempted to advance on a wild pitch, but the Knights tagged him out at home. 
The game remained tied until the tenth inning when Healey rocketed his second homer of the day to put the game away and allow Widener to pull away with the 4-3 victory. 
Sophomore 
Sean Maniatis (Morrisville, Pa.) picked up the win on the mound for Widener in game one by pitching one inning. He surrendered no hits, no runs, had one strike out, and issued no walks. Zach Manasek suffered the loss as he hurled three innings, surrendered three hits, one run, struck out three and issued one walk.
Widener carried over the momentum they gained in the first game into the night cap and captured the lead early in the first inning with two runs. Senior 
Greg McDonough (Ambler, Pa.) advanced home on a wild pitch and DeBellis hit an RBI single down the left field line to drive home 
Mike Elfreth (Washington Township, N.J.). 
The Knights trailed behind in the next three innings until they tacked on two runs to tie the score. After an inning of no runs, no hits, one error, and one left on base, Justin Chasmar came out and hit a hommer to put the visitors away, 3-2.
Mitch Blake picked up the win on the mound for Arcadia. He hurled one and two-thirds innings, surrendered no hits, one run, struck out two and issued three walks. Freshman 
Joey Zettlemoyer (Downingtown, Pa.) suffered the loss for the visiors. He pitched two innings, surrendered three runs, three hits, struck out one and issued one walk.
The Pride will return home on Wednesday, April 19 as they take on Keystone at 3:30 p.m.
