CHESTER, Pa. –
Aaron Green won two individual events and was part of two winning relays as the Widener University men's swimming team swept a double dual meet with the Messiah Falcons and the Hood Blazers at the Schwartz Center pool on Saturday. The Pride defeated Hood 218-35 and downed Messiah 144-117.
Green won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.24 seconds. He later touched first in the 100 butterfly, clocking in at 53.10, more than three seconds faster than his nearest opponent. Swimming the first leg of the 200 medley relay, Green was joined by
Paolo Cortez,
Martin Bohdan and
Adam Winikoff in a winning time of 1:39.92. In the 400 free relay, he swam anchor as he, Winikoff, Bohdan and
Tim Dando finished in 3:14.27.
Cortez and Winikoff each also won individual events. Cortez topped the leaderboard in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:01.40. Winikoff won the 100 freestyle in 49.44.
Sam Smith claimed victory in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:35.72 and
Porter Luksic won the 200 breaststroke with a 2:17.80 clocking.
Widener returns to action at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational Nov. 17-19.Â
