Ferrucci, Gallagher Set Records as Women's Basketball Defeats Arcadia on Senior Day

Junior Ally Ferrucci (Vineland, NJ) and freshman Allison Gallagher (Souderton, PA) each set records for women's basketball as Widener defeated Arcadia, 84-57, on senior day at the Schwartz Center.
 
The Pride opened the first half on a 21-1 run against Arcadia. In the first half, Widener shot 23-of-28 from the field for a 60.5% field goal percentage.
 
Ferrucci set a new school record for assist in a season recorded by one student-athlete with 148 assists. She broke the record set by Lil Carney in 2010-11 with 147 assists. The junior guard is also now ranked second all-time with 360 career assist. She sits alone on the all-time list behind Carney, who recorded 480 assist.
 
The guard finished the game with 11 points and six assist. She shot four-of-eight from the field and three-of-four from the free throw line.
 
Gallagher recorded a game high 19 points for the Pride against the Knights. She shot nine-of-17 from the field and added two assist and one steal.  She now holds the record for points scored in a season by a freshman with 380 in 25 games played. Gallagher finished the season with a team high 15.2 points a game.
 
Senior Courtney Colella (Cinnaminson, NJ) added a team high nine rebounds and 15 points in her last game for the Pride. She recorded a game high five steals and shot five-of-six from the free throw line.
 
Addy Crenny led Arcadia (12-13, 8-8 CC) with nine rebounds and eight points. Maureen Fiocca added 13 points, two rebounds and one steal for the Knights
 
Paige Davis (Newark, DE) and Aleia Glick (Franklinville, NJ) each recorded two points and three assist in their final game in a Widener uniform. Davis added six rebounds and one steal, while Glick finished with one board on the defensive glass.
 
Widener finishes the season with an 11-14 overall record and a 5-11 Commonwealth Conference record. The Pride held the advantage on the glass over the Knights, 56-33.
