Mother Nature had her way again in the NCAA Tournament Mideast Regional, postponing Widener's game with 24th-ranked Marietta a second time until Saturday at 10:00 am.
Twelve games were scheduled in the regional through Friday and only six have been played. Four teams, including the Pride, have played just one game.
Widener (32-11) still is on a nine-game winning streak and still extends its own school record for most wins with every victory. What now seems like a lifetime ago, Widener opened the tournament Wednesday morning with an 8-1 victory over La Roche to go to the winners bracket.
Saturday's game between the Pride and Pioneers is a winners bracket contest. Also competing in the winners bracket is Salisbury and No. 20 Case Western Reserve, who will play at 1:15 pm.
As of 8:15 pm on Friday, the remainder of the tournament after the Salisbury-CWR game is undetermined.
