Lindsay Pepino Buoys Women's Baketball to 73-62 Triumph at Arcadia

Senior Lindsay Pepino (Oceanside, NY) matched her career high with 16 points, including 10 during the first half in Widener's 73-62 Commonwealth Conference win at Arcadia in Glenside, PA.
 
Pepino netted six points over a 15-6 run in the final 8:16 as the Pride (14-7, 7-3 CC) opened a 37-22 halftime cushion.  Arcadia was limited to just 35 percent shooting (8-of-23) during the half.
 
Pepino finished hitting 6-of-8 from the floor and equaled her point total from November 24, 2010 against Neumann.  She also grabbed eight rebounds, matching her personal high from January 14 at Messiah.
 
Vanessa Hejnas (Delran, NJ) had 14 points and eight rebounds, fellow junior Francesca Lee (Hainesport, NJ) posted 12 and nine with junior Lil Carney (Narberth, PA) adding 11 and six for the Pride.
 
Junior Kate Dellinger (Wrightsville, PA) grabbed seven rebounds for the Pride, who have won five of their last six overall and improved to 8-0 against the Knights in league play.
 
Emily Morehouse scored 28 points on 10-of-16 shooting with Christine Taylor adding 14 for Arcadia (3-18, 0-11).
 
Widener can clinch its fifth straight trip to the Commonwealth Conference Tournament with a victory Saturday at Lycoming.  Tip-off is at 1:00 pm.
