Softball Drops a Pair in Florida

Widener was handed an 8-6 loss by Alma before suffering a 7-4 setback to Augustana (IL) in Clermont, FL.

Against Alma, Widener (0-4) rallied for five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to tie the game. Senior Meg Phillips (Aston, PA) and sophomore Colleen Orsborn (Drexel Hill, PA) each had two RBI in the frame.

But the Scots (4-1) scored twice in the top of the seventh to take the lead for good.

Versus Augustana, sophomore Jess Way (Marlton, NJ) collected two hits and two RBI.

Widener is off until Thursday, when it faces Marywood in a doubleheader that starts at 9:30 am.
