Softball Falls Twice in Florida to Open the Season

Widener had a tough go of it in its season openers, losing 9-1 against Adrian and 12-0 to Alma in Clermont, FL.

Senior Meg Phillips (Aston, PA) had a hit in each contest for the Pride (0-2). In game one, she tripled and scored on a wild pitch as she was able to get out of a rundown.

Adrian improved to 3-0 and Alma was 2-0 before playing earlier in the day.

Widener on Tuesday battles Alma at 9:30 am and Augustana (IL) at 11:30 am.
