Kate Dellinger Reaches New Personal High As Women’s Basketball Defeats Eastern 78-70

Kate Dellinger (Wrightsville, PA) reached a new personal high with 31 points as Widener topped Eastern, 78-70, in St. Davids, PA for its third straight win.
 
Dellinger surpassed her career high of 30 points, which she set for the Pride (5-3) last year on January 19 against Alvernia.  She shot 4-for-7 from 3-point range and 15-for-21 at the line to go with four assists. She also grabbed 11 rebounds, caused four turnovers and had one steal.
 
Lil Carney (Narberth, PA) added to Widener's success with three steals, four turnovers and six assists. She shot 4-of-9 from the floor and 2-for-3 at the line for 10 points to go with six rebounds. Francesca Lee (Hainesport, NJ) amassed seven rebounds and four steals. Joanna Persiano (Absecon, NJ) made 3-of-6 from 3-point range to end with 15 points, one steal and five rebounds.
 
For Eastern (6-2), Meghan Nowak totaled 23 points, 11 rebounds and two steals. Shante Jones was right behind her with 22 points, six steals and four assists.
 
Widener travels to Rowan next Saturday to play at 1:00 pm.
