Widener leveled its record with a 13-3 victory over Alverno and a 6-4 triumph against Beloit in Kissimmee, FL.

Senior Steph Connolly (Aston, PA) cracked a three-run homer against Alverno and freshman Shelby Mackintosh (Lumberton, NJ) hit a three-run shot in the bottom of the sixth inning to end the game by mercy rule.

Philadelphia freshman Liz Carpino (1-0) picked up the win for Widener (2-2), yielding one hit over two scoreless relief innings.

Against Beloit, junior Meg Phillips (Aston, PA) had three hits that included a triple and senior Caitlin Callahan (Franklin Square, NY) collected two hits.

Parker Ford, PA junior Kelsey Shultz (1-1) got the victory, striking out nine over seven innings.

Widener on Thursday plays York (PA) at 9:00 am and Ferrum at 11:00 am.
