Junior Caitlin Callahan (Franklin Square, NY) lined the go-ahead, two-run single in game one and senior Katie Mitchell (Drexel Hill, PA) hit a walk-off, RBI single in the final for Widener, which notched victories of 7-5 and 7-6 over Wesley.
With the score level at six in the bottom of the sixth inning of game one, sophomore Jamie Schmucker (Holmes, PA) drew a one-out walk. She stole second and reached third on a bunt single from sophomore Meg Phillips (Aston, PA). Phillips stole second and Callahan plated both runners on a single through the left side.
Cheltenham, PA freshman Emily Donnelly (2-0) made it stand, yielding one run and three hits over two innings. Sophomore Kelsey Shultz (Parker Ford, PA) struck out six over five innings.
Senior Krista Cesarine (Ridley Park, PA) blasted her third home run of the season and Callahan finished with three RBI for the Pride (17-13).
Megan Street was charged with seven runs and nine hits over six innings for the Wolverines (4-15).
Trailing 6-5 entering the bottom of the seventh in game two, the Pride rallied for two runs. Callahan had a lead-off double, reached third on a sacrifice from junior Steph Connolly (Aston, PA) and scored on a single through the left side from senior Rachel O'Leary (Coatesville, PA).
Cesarine reached on a fielding error and junior Lauren Brubaker (Newtown Square, PA) smashed a hard-hit single off the first baseman's glove to load the bases. Mitchell promptly drilled the game-winning single over the left fielder's head.
Shultz (9-4) got the win in relief, yielding just two hits over 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
Street (3-8) gave up seven runs – four earned – and 12 hits over 6 2/3 innings. She also hit a solo home run.
Widener is off until April 16, when it visits Cabrini for a 3:00 pm doubleheader.
