Softball Splits Two Games to Open Season

Widener split a pair of contests to begin its season, dropping a 5-0 game to Adrian before a 4-3 victory over Methodist in Kissimmee, FL.

In the opener, Stephanie Caulford (Vineland, NJ) had two hits and fellow senior Rachel O'Leary (Coatesville, PA) had one. Belle Mead, NJ junior Kim Dougherty (0-1) was charged with the loss.

Against Methodist, junior Caitlin Callahan (Franklin Square, NY) collected two hits with an RBI and senior Krista Cesarine (Ridley Park, PA) had a hit. Parker Ford, PA sophomore Kelsey Shultz (1-0) notched the win.

Widener on Tuesday plays Ferrum at 9:00 am and York (PA) at 11:00 am.
