Barbara Fleming's 26 Points Help Women's Basketball to 66-61 Victory Over Albright

Senior Barbara Fleming (Philadelphia, PA) matched her career highs with 26 points and seven assists for Widener in a 66-61 Commonwealth Conference victory Albright at Schwartz Center.
 
Fleming, who also scored 26 against Neumann on November 24, 2007, shot 7-of-15 from the field, 3-of-8 from 3-point range and 9-of-13 from the line over 35 minutes. She poured in 16 points in the opening half to help Widener open a 33-31 lead.
 
Freshman Casey Pritz (Abington, PA) bested her season high with 24 points on 11-of-16 shooting over 25 minutes. She netted 17 points in the second half on 8-of-11 shooting and hauled in five rebounds.
 
Junior Becky Tyler (Wynnewood, PA) grabbed a season-best 12 rebounds for the Pride (9-4, 1-0 CC), who owned a 48-36 edge for their eighth victory in nine outings.
 
Annie McMahon scored 15 points and Charlotte Ciccone had 14 and eight rebounds for the Lady Lions (8-5, 0-1 CC), who shot only 35 percent (19-of-54) from the field.

Widener hits the road Sunday to visit Lycoming as part of a doubleheader with the men's team. The women's game starts at 1:00 pm, followed by the men's contest at 3:00 pm.
