Women's Basketball Cruises to 74-54 Triumph Over McDaniel

Junior Becky Tyler (Wynnewood, PA) scored a career-high 20 points and freshman Casey Pritz (Abington, PA) posted her fourth double-double for Widener in a 74-54 victory over McDaniel at Schwartz Center.
 
Widener (8-4) was on fire in the first half en route to its seventh victory in eight outings. Senior Barbara Fleming (Philadelphia, PA) scored nine points in that span for the Pride, who shot 41 percent (15-of-37) from the floor and limited the Green Terror to 19 percent (5-of-26) for a 41-16 lead.
 
Junior Lindsey Isler (New Hope, PA) netted seven points in the half and Tyler notched six and seven rebounds, helping Widener gain a 29-18 edge on the boards.
 
The Pride, who led by as many as 67-26 with 9:12 remaining, shot 48 percent (28-of-59) overall and ended with a 45-37 rebounding advantage. McDaniel (4-4) hit just 31 percent (19-of-62) from the field.
 
Pritz had 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Fleming posted 13 points, six rebounds and six assists.
 
Whitney Snoops had 11 points and seven rebounds with Ali Moreland notching 11 and six for the Green Terror.
 
Widener opens Commonwealth Conference play Wednesday at home against Albright as part of a doubleheader with the men's team. The women play at 6:00 pm, followed by the men's contest at 8:00 pm.
