3/25/08 -- Widener had its six-game winning streak snapped with a 5-1 loss at Swarthmore in the opener, but bounced back with a 4-2 triumph in the nightcap.
Swarthmore (8-6) broke open game one with three runs in the sixth inning for the final margin. Melissa Emmerson lined an RBI single and Kira Kern was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Kim Dougherty (3-2) permitted three runs and five hits with three strikeouts over five innings for the Pride (10-6). Sophomore
Steph Connolly (Aston, PA) homered in the fifth inning.
Kathryn Riley (5-2) struck out five for the Garnet, yielding one run and two hits over seven innings.
Widener in game two took a 3-2 lead in the sixth inning thanks to a two-out RBI single by junior

Mallory Meyer (4-3) struck out six, yielding two runs and seven hits over seven innings. Brubaker ended 3-for-3, helping the Pride end with 11 hits.
Krista Scheirer (0-1) allowed four runs and 11 hits over seven innings for Swarthmore.
Widener is home Wednesday for a home doubleheader against Haverford, beginning at 5:00 pm.
