Women's Basketball Win Fourth Straight, 74-36 Over Rosemont

Senior Barbara Fleming (Philadelphia, PA) scored 20 points for Widener, which pulled away in the first half and won its fourth straight with a 74-36 victory over Rosemont at Schwartz Center.
 
Widener (5-3) scored the last 14 points of the first half with Fleming contributing six for a 36-18 lead. The Pride shot 38 percent (15-of-40) in the half and held the Ramblers to only 28 percent (7-of-25).
 
Senior Beth Dessart Mager (Newtown Square, PA), the reigning Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week, scored nine points for Widener. Junior Danielle Wetling (Upper Darby, PA) had nine points and eight rebounds with Alex Held (Westminster, MD) and fellow sophomore Katie Gallagher (Defiance, OH) pouring in nine points apiece.
 
Junior Becky Tyler (Wynnewood, PA) had seven points and eight rebounds with freshman Casey Pritz (Abington, PA) notching four blocks for Widener, which ended with 11 blocks.
 
Adriann Demchenko had 21 points and 14 rebounds with Vanessa Johnson grabbing 10 rebounds for Rosemont (3-4).
 
Widener is home Saturday against Rutgers-Camden, beginning at 4:00 pm.
