1/4/08 -- Junior Megan Sipple (Boothwyn, PA) scored 14 points, but it was not enough for Widener in an 81-57 loss to The College of New Jersey at the GMC Women's Classic in Gwynedd Valley, PA.
Widener (6-6) went on a 10-2 run to close to 20-18 with 7:41 to go in the first half. Freshman Kylie Walton (Columbus, NJ) scored six points in that span and sophomore Becky Tyler (Wynnewood, PA) netted four.
But the Lions (7-3) poured in the next 11 points for a 31-18 cushion with 5:17 left. Alyssa Michella hit back-to-back 3-pointers to end the spurt.
Sipple shot 4-of-8 from the field and reached double figures in points for the eighth time this year. But the Pride only hit 33 percent (17-of-51) from the floor.
Sophomore
Lindsey Isler (New Hope, PA) had eight points and six assists with Walton netting eight points for Widener.
Alexandra Gregorek scored 15 points, Hillary Klimowicz had 14 and nine rebounds, Sara Best netted 14 points and Michella added 13 for TCNJ, which shot 52 percent (34-of-66) from the floor.
Widener on Saturday faces Ursinus, also in the GMC Women's Classic, at 11:00 am.
