Women's Basketball Pulls Away in Second Half for 66-49 Victory at Rosemont

12/12/07 -- Sophomore Rayne Reber (Pottstown, PA) scored 13 points and grabbed a career-best 13 rebounds for Widener, which ran away from Rosemont in the second half for a 66-49 victory in Rosemont, PA.

Widener (5-3) took control with a 15-6 run for a 54-41 lead with 6:43 remaining, en route to its third straight win and fifth in six outings. Freshman Laura Carson (Downingtown, PA) netted four points in that span with Reber, junior Megan Sipple (Boothwyn, PA) and senior Quisha Dunston (Bear, DE) adding three each.

Reber scored nine points in the second half, when the Pride shot 5-of-9 from 3-point range and outscored the Ramblers 37-24. Reber, who posted her first career double-double, shot 4-of-9 overall and drilled two 3-pointers.

Junior Barbara Fleming (Philadelphia, PA) and freshman Kylie Walton (Columbus, NJ) scored 11 points apiece for Widener, which owned a decisive 51-33 rebounding edge. Carson and Sipple each netted eight points.

Fleming and Sipple also hit two 3-pointers as Widener nailed seven, marking the fourth time this season it has reached that plateau.

Andrea Boyle scored 14 points and Jordan Moon added 12 for Rosemont (3-4), which was held to 37 percent shooting (20-of-54) and was 2-of-13 from 3-point range.

Widener on Saturday visits Rowan for a 1:00 pm start in Glassboro, NJ.
