Mark Yankovich is in his sixth season as the Head Coach for Widener men's and women's swimming in 2024-25. He brings more than 17 years of coaching experience to the Pride.

Yankovich took over as the Director of Physical Education during the 2023-24 academic year.

During the 2023-24 season, Yankovich led the Pride to numerous program records. The men's swimming team to one of their best finishes since 2016-17 with a 9-1 regular season record and went 5-0 in MAC meets with key wins over Washington College (105-98), Arcadia (138-124), and Misericordia (179-79). The women's team finished with a 6-4 record in the regular season and a 2-3 MAC record with conference wins over Albright (137-27) and Hood (187-66). Yankovich coached the Pride to a second place finish on the men's side and a fifth place finish on the women's side. The 2023-24 season brought eight program records to the record board. For his accomplishments on the pool deck, Yankovich was named the 2023-24 Middle Atlantic Conference Swimming Coach of the Year. 

Most recently, Yankovich spent the past three years as the head coach at the University of Scranton where his student-athletes set 21 school records, won 20 conference championships, set seven conference records, won multiple major awards, and saw the Royals’ first NCAA participant in more than 10 years. For their efforts, he and his assistants were named the 2019 Landmark Conference Women’s Coaching Staff of the Year. Additionally, Yankovich was instrumental in redesigning the safety protocols at the aquatic facility and providing updated training for lifeguards.
 
Prior to Scranton, he worked a year at La Sale as an assistant, helping with coaching and recruiting. Among his student-athletes were participants in four different nations Olympic trials.
 
As a graduate assistant at Washinton (Md.) College, Yankovich was responsible for recruiting with his student-athletes breaking every possible school record. He began his collegiate coaching career at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. with a focus on sprint and mid-distance swimmers.
 
Yankovich earned his BS in exercise science from McDaniel College in 2007 and his MS in psychology from Washington College in 2012.
