NEWTOWN, Pa. - Widener Women's Soccer was placed fifth on the MAC Commonwealth Coaches' Preseason poll, as announced by the conference office on Monday (Aug. 17).

In the poll, Widener earned 41 points, just one behind Eastern. The Pride held a comfortable 19 point lead ahead of Hood who earned 22 points. Messiah took the top of the poll with 64 points and all eight first place votes while York holds second with 57.

Last season the Pride showed a 7-7-4 (2-4-1 MAC Commonwealth) record.

The 2026 season commences in a few short weeks on September 1 in Baltimore, Md. at Notre Dame of Maryland. The home opener heads to the newly renovated Hirschmann Field on September 4 against King's at 4 p.m. and Skidmore on September 5 at 3 p.m. against Skidmore.
