CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Athletics and Widener Anti-Sexual Violence Education (WAVE) hosted speaker, writer, and teacher Janine Latus on Monday (Feb. 2) evening to share her story entitled Recognize Relationship Abuse, Break Free, Intervene, and Heal in Alumni Auditorium.
 
 Janine Latus, a New York Times bestseller, joined Widener Athletics to educate our student-athletes on sexual assault and how to intervene and break free. Latus is the author of If I Am Missing or Dead: A Sister's Story of Love; Murder and Liberation shared her life story and tools to intervene and heal. This year Widener hosted two sessions with Latus for over 600 student-athletes.
 
In partnership with Widener WAVE, all Widener athletic teams have been in presentations throughout the semester to lead the campus to become a safer and better place.
