LANCASTER, Pa. - Widener men's volleyball opened the day against Elizabethtown College, dropping a four-set decision, before closing the tri-match with a straight-set loss to host Lancaster Bible College at Horst Athletic Center.
The Pride drop to 3-5 on the season.

Widener jumped out early with a service ace from Sandberg to open the set, but Elizabethtown quickly answered as the teams traded points and remained close through the opening stretch. The Pride stayed within one or two points for much of the set, trailing 8-10 and 12–14 behind kills from Matthew Randall and Akinwale. Elizabethtown pulled ahead late, extending the margin to 20–15, and Widener was unable to close the gap as the Blue Jays secured the first set, 25–20.

Widener controlled much of the set after breaking an early 3–3 tie, using kills from Sandberg and Dahl to build a 9–5 advantage. The Pride steadily extended the margin through the middle of the frame, pushing the lead to 15–10 and later 20–15 behind consistent offense from Marquis, Dahl, and Randall. Elizabethtown attempted to rally late, trimming the deficit to 24–21, but the Pride closed out the set on the next point to secure the 25–21 win.

The Blue Jays opened the third set with a 4–1 lead, but the Pride quickly evened the score at 10–10 behind kills from Marquis, Dahl, Christian Wannamaker, and Anioma Njokanma. The Pride kept the game close through the midset stretch bringing it to 14-18. But late in the set, Elizabethtown pulled ahead, scoring the final seven points while Widener tallied just three, closing the set at 25–17.

Widener fell behind quickly, trailing 3–12 after early errors and Elizabethtown kills. The Pride battled back with points from Wannamaker, Marquis, and Kevin Stubbs, narrowing the gap slightly to 16–23. Elizabethtown then finished strong, scoring the final two points to take the set 25–17.

Widener opened the set quickly, jumping to a 2-1 lead. The Pride then brought the score to 5-2 behind a kill from Njokanma. LBC quickly caught up at 6-5, with the two teams then trading points all the way to 9-9 and then again at 16-16. Lancaster Bible then went on a run to close out the set, winning 25-16.

Set two saw a tight battle from the start, with Lancaster Bible and Widener trading points early to reach 4-4. Widener stayed within striking distance behind kills from Njokanma, Wannamaker, and Akinwale. Lancaster Bible edged ahead late in the set,to build a 16-14 lead. Despite Widener answering with points from Dahl and Randall, Lancaster Bible closed the set on a 6-3 run, finishing 25-22.

Lancaster Bible jumped out to an early lead in the third set. Widener answered to bring the score to 3-2, but Lancaster Bible went on a 5-2 run to push the score to 7-5. Widener tried to chip away with kills from Randall and Stubbs but service errors and attack errors allowed Lancaster Bible to maintain a clear advantage. By the midway point, Lancaster Bible led 16-13 and extended their lead to 18-14. The Pride managed a few late points, including a block by Sandberg and Josh Akinwale, but Lancaster Bible closed the set on a 4-1 run, finishing 25-18 to take the third set.
