CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Men's Basketball puts in 67 against strong York offense.
The 93-67 loss moves the Pride to 6-12 in the regular season and 3-4 in conference play.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Myles Bright led the Pride with 11 points.
- Jacob Aryee held six with two steals and four rebounds.
- The Pride shot 37.9% from the floor, 33.3% from three, and saw 34 points in the paint.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The 40-minute game begun with a Spartan 8-0 run before Jay-Nelly Reyes put in a layup. Myles Bright's layup would be his first of the night while Emmett Kane saw two on the next possession. The Spartan offense would find momentum as they went on an offensive tear before Ethan Dodson put in two from the charity stripe. The Pride offense found some speed with Matt Johnson putting in four points and Dylan Schlatter hitting a triple. Out of a media timeout, Kori Seigch saw two from the line alongside a Bright layup. Kane threw a block while Dodson put in a fastbreak layup to end the half down 48-34.
- Kane put in the first points of the second off a free throw. Segich would hit a layup before the Spartans answered. Bright hit a jumper off a Schlatter pass at 14:43 while Dodson saw his first points of the second seconds later. A rebound from Schlatter sent Aryee driving with a good layup which drew an And-1 at 12:56. Johnson saw a triple at 10:41 to answer the Spartans. Bright and Kane put in points with 7:02 remaining to make the score 77-56 Spartans. Final points would be seen with Jayden Lawrence sinking a triple, Drew Harvy poked a ball loose to give Namisse Musonge points before the game ended 93-67.
