CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Men's soccer fought valiantly in a 0-0 draw against the Johns Hopkins Blue Jays.
The Pride are now 1-5-2 on the season and 0-0 in conference play.
BY THE NUMBERS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Widener came out with energy, as Max Hartke and Michael Burckley both tested the Johns Hopkins defense early, with Burckley forcing a save in the seventh minute. Tristan Willey answered on the other end with a stop in the sixth minute to keep the score even. The Pride created more chances midway through the half, with Ryan Toporowski and Burckley firing off shots before halftime. Hopkins had a few looks, but Widener's defense held firm, sending the game into the break locked at 0–0.
- Johns Hopkins came out pressing, but Willey made another save in the 59th minute to preserve the shutout. Widener nearly broke through when Burckley hit the crossbar in the 54th minute and followed up with another attempt moments later. Jordi Lopez forced a save in the 52nd minute, and Hartke and Hoover both added late looks as the Pride continued to push for a winner. Neither side was able to breakthrough earning the Pride a 0–0 draw at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.
