CHESTER, PA. – Widener Women's soccer suffered a 2-0 home loss against the Arcadia University Knights.

The Pride are now 4-3-0 on the season and 0-0 in conference play.

BY THE NUMBERS

• The Pride had 16 shots (7 on goal). The Knights had 13 shots (6 on goal).
• Widener had 7 fouls compared to Arcadia's 7.
• Araba Abanyie had 5 saves in goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Widener would fall behind early on Saturday as Arcadia scored the first goal of the game at the 18:34 mark. Arcadia would continue to apply the pressure but the Widener defense stepped up and kept the Knights from extending their lead in the first half. The Pride were able to apply some pressure of their own getting two shots on goal late in the half but were unable to connect. The game would go into the half with Arcadia holding a 1-0 lead.
• Much like the first half, the Arcadia offense was working early as they were able to take a 2-0 lead at the 52:11 mark. Widener would continue to fight, as they put up eight more shots in the second half, but unfortunately were unable to find the back of the net and lose by a final score of 2-0.
