First Half Fireworks Lead the Way to Pride Victory Over Neumann

ASTON, Pa. – Widener Women's Soccer scored three goals en route to a dominant 4-1 win over the Neumann College Knights

The Pride are now 3-2-0 on the season and 0-0 in conference play.

BY THE NUMBERS HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Pride came out hot to start this game as Reilly Klein put one in the back of the net with an assist from Allison Gomez at the 8:18 mark. It didn't take long for Widener to add on to their lead as Allison Gomez scored a goal of her own with an assist from Abby Picollo at 10:27. The Knights eventually got their offense going and scored a goal of their own at 25:58 to cut the Widener lead to one. The Pride were able to answer, as Jenna McGovern scored with an assist from Isabella Losada at 34:46. Widener went into half time with a commanding 3-1 lead.
  • The Widener offense continued to put the pressure on Neumann in the second half, shooting the ball 11 times. The Pride were able to find the back of the net once again thanks to a goal from Charlotte Burke with an assist from Giovanna Chaves at the 78:22 mark. When the dust settled, the Pride were headed back the Chester with a dominant 4-1 win over Neumann.

The Pride will take a short trip to Immaculata University on Thursday, September 18th. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
