CHESTER, Pa. - Widener Men's Soccer suffered a 2-1 loss in a physical back and forth game against the Emerson College Lions
The Pride are now 1-4-0 on the season and 0-0 in conference play.
BY THE NUMBERS

- Michael Burckley scored the only goal of the game for the Pride, with an assist from Ryan Toporowski.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions were able to control the game in the first half, attempting six shots compared to Widener's one. The pride were able to keep them off the board until the 40:28 mark when Emerson broke the scoreless tie. The teams would head into the locker room with Emerson holding on to a 1-0 lead.
- The late first half goal did not discourage the Pride, Michael Burckley evened the score at the 46:40 mark with an assist from Ryan Toporowski. Emerson did not take long to answer, as they regained the lead at 53:23. The Lions started to control the game once again, keeping Widener on their toes. The Pride fought to very end attempting a shot at the 85:30 mark but were unable to connect. Widener suffered its third straight loss by a final score of 2-1.
