CHESTER, Pa. – The annual Widener Final Qualifier would show two new Widener Women's Track records fall as
Mariam Koita and
Gabby Nye bettered their own times.
Zahara Simmons jumped a 1.48-meter height in the high jump.
Kayla Robinson showed a 5.58-meter distance in the long jump to take second overall.
In the discus,
Adeline Kraics threw a 37.32-meter toss.
Field events would wrap up as Kraics marked a 33.64-meter javelin on her first attempt while
Kaitlyn Helbig threw a 25.48. The women's hammer throw showed a fourth-place finish from
Isabel Rodriguez with a 49.69-meter throw.
Jillian Walker and
Anna Baukal threw a 39.76-meter and 36.51-meter throw respectively.
The Pride would open with a win in the 4x100-meter relay.
Jayla Gore,
Kayla Robinson,
Maria Muzzarelli, and
Mariam Koita would clock a 47.16.
Koita's day of competition continued in the 100-meter prelims as she ran a 12.04 to qualify for finals. Koita would scratch finals.
Simmons ran a 15.43 in the 100-meter hurdles.
While on the bubble for Nationals, Koita sprinted to a new personal best 24.47 in the 200-meter dash. Her 24.47 would better her own Widener record.
Gabby Nye took second in the 5000-meter run while seeing a new personal best 16:34.06 and school record.

Widener returns to the track on Wednesday and Thursday, May 14-15 for the AARTFC Championships hosted by Williams College in Williamstown, Mass.
