ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Widener Men's Lacrosse sees a hat trick from
Samuel Haverstrom in a tough loss to Elizabethtown.
The 15-7 loss moves the Pride to 1-6 in the regular season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A slow start for the Pride would turn around with an unassisted Bryant Maits goal at 7:12. Billie registered a handful of saves in the final minutes of the first quarter. A Haverstrom shot would end the quarter as the Pride would be down 2-1.
- The second quarter would highlight Billie saves and shots from Maits and Savier Wadlington. The Pride offense became slow and the defense would head into halftime down 8-1.
- Out of halftime, Maits would rattle two shots that fell high. A Widener timeout at 3:43 would allow plays to be drawn up. Out of the timeout, Matt Ellison hit the post and Haverstrom capitalized with a goal to make the score 12-2 at 2:51. The quarter ended with a score of 13-2.
- The fourth quarter favored the Pride as Matt Horgan and Matt Buckley saw ground balls. Horgan found the back of the cage at 11:06 to cut into the lead. The Pride started a little run to bring the deficit down as Billie saw a ground ball to a good clear. Luke Shimko saw a goal from Jacob Shannon and Haverstrom tacked onto the score with a goal at 10:11. The score was 15-5 in favor of the Blue Jays. Chris Covington would snag a goal at 9:22. The Pride wrapped up the game with a Haverstrom goal from Knepp at 1:56 to end the game with a final score of 15-7.
