The teams traded points early, with 10 ties and 6 lead changes, but a mid-set surge fueled by Christian Wannamaker's attacking and Jason Sandberg's precise setting helped Widener pull away. A key service ace from Wannamaker and a block from Josh Akinwale helped close out the set, giving Widener a 25-19 victory.Â

Widener carried its momentum into the second set, jumping out to an early lead with kills from Martino and Stephen Marquis. A key 5-1 scoring run featuring multiple kills from Wannamaker and Christ extended the lead, while Sandberg's steady playmaking kept the offense running smoothly. Despite a brief push from Cairn, Martino and Marquis sealed the set with crucial kills, securing another 25-19 win.Â

Looking to complete the sweep, Widener dominated the final set with its most efficient attacking performance, hitting .458 as a team. Martino and Christ once again led the offense, while Akinwale contributed at the net with a key solo block. A 6-1 run midway through the set, capped by a Sandberg service ace, put Widener in full control. The team maintained its composure down the stretch, closing out the match on a Martino kill to clinch a 25-17 victory and a 3-0 sweep.Â
