BY THE NUMBERS
HOW IT HAPPENED
-
Widener opened the game with early energy, sparked by Stackhouse scoring the team's first four points in transition and in the paint. A strong defensive presence from Avalynn Baer, including a block on the inside, helped Widener keep pace through the opening minutes as the teams traded baskets and leads. Liliana Metrick provided a lift off the bench with two mid-range jumpers, and Stackhouse added another layup to steady the offense. Despite Widener forcing several early turnovers and getting to the rim consistently, Immaculata closed the quarter up 18-16.
-
The Pride battled to stay within reach as the game tightened, with Kimberly Casiello knocking down an early jumper and Daniels scoring inside to keep the Pride within one possession. Despite several strong defensive plays, including multiple steals from Stackhouse, Kutz, and Baer, Immaculata consistently answered at the rim. A three from Daniels and a fastbreak layup by Kutz briefly pulled Widener even at 29–29, but the Mighty Macs closed the half on a 7–0 surge. Widener entered the break trailing 36–29.
-
Widener opened the second half with a layup from Daniels, but Immaculata quickly took control. Despite a strong block from Baer and a steady rebounding effort from Kutz, the Pride struggled to convert offensively, missing multiple looks from deep as the Mighty Macs built momentum with an 11–2 run. Stackhouse and Giada Palmieri added buckets to stop brief scoring droughts, but Immaculata continued to stretch the margin, pushing the deficit to 58–36 by quarter's end.
-
The Pride kept battling in the final quarter, sparked by a strong stretch from Stackhouse, who scored multiple layups and pushed the pace in transition. Kutz knocked down a three to add to the effort, and Baer and Meredith Dufner continued to work on the glass to create extra chances. Despite the Pride's energy and late free throws from Dufner, Immaculata's shooting runs kept Widener from closing the gap as the game wound down, ending in a score of 75-52.
