Pride Move to 6-0 After Dominant Third Quarter

CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Women's continues their scorching hot start to the season after a dominant win over the Neumann Knights.

The Pride are now 6-0 on the season.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • Riley Stackhouse led all scorers with 22 points, shooting 7-for-11 from the field and 4-for-7 from three, while adding six rebounds, four assists, and three steals in an all-around standout performance.
 
  • Mia Robbins delivered 17 points and seven rebounds, going 6-for-10 from the floor and a strong 5-for-7 at the free throw line, while also contributing two assists and a steal.
 
  • Lindsay Kutz recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds, adding five assists, a steal, and going 2-for-4 from three.
 
  • Mikeala Stair added six points going 3-3 from the field while also grabbing a rebound.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Widener started the game with an early three from Riley Stackhouse, but Neumann answered by capitalizing on turnovers. The Pride struggled to find rhythm offensively early, but Kutz, Robbins, and Baer kept Widener within one possession through much of the quarter. The quarter would come to a close with Neumann leading 16-13
  • Breelynn Leary's three tied the game at 16–16 just seconds into the quarter, igniting the Pride offense. After Neumann briefly moved ahead, Widener locked in defensively and went on a 14–4 run, led by key plays from Stackhouse, Robbins, and Baer. Stackhouse knocked down a wing three and later scored in transition, while Robbins added seven points in the period. Widener held Neumann to just four made field goals and forced eight second-quarter turnovers, taking a 34–26 lead at halftime.
  • Widener delivered its most dominant stretch of the night, outscoring Neumann 31–15 in the third. Stackhouse opened the quarter with a three, and from there the Pride ignited a 17–3 run, featuring another triple from Kutz and strong finishes by Robbins. Stair added valuable scoring off the bench during the surge, while Kutz pulled down several defensive rebounds. Widener hit 12 of 17 shots in the quarter, including 4-for-7 from three, building a commanding 65–41 lead heading into the fourth.
  • With a large advantage entering the final frame, Widener controlled the pace and secured the win. The Pride were able to maintain the margin and keep Neumann without a significant run in the closing minutes. Widener finished the night with a 78–52 victory, improving to 6–0 on the season.

The Pride will stay close to home as they travel to Immaculata University on Wednesday, December 3rd. Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
