CHESTER, Pa. – Senior
Myles Bright scored more than half of Widener Men's Basketball's points in a close loss to Ursinus.
The 81-74 loss moves the Pride to 1-3 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A slow start for both sides would be broken by a Bright triple at 18:23. Ethan Dodson continued the scoring with a quick steal and free throw. The Pride and Bears would go back and forth with shots and steals before Musonge drained a triple at 15:27. Bright extended the 9-0 run with a layup before the Bears put in a layup. The Pride offense would go quiet as the Bears clawed back to make the score 9-5 at 12:31. Jacob Aryee saw his first points of the game after the media timeout with a layup that picked up an And-1. Musonge drained another triple with just over half to go. The Bears would go on a 9-0 run before Emmet Kane put in a layout with 6:26 left. Bright would erupt the Schwartz Center with back-to-back triples to give the lead back to the Pride. An answer with a baseline jumper sent the Pride into half with a final triple. The Pride led 40-34.
- Out of half, the Pride would come out flat with the first points coming at 16:50 with a good Kane fastbreak layup to tie the game at 42. Kane picked up. A block from Kane followed to give Matt Johnson a chance at the charity stripe. The successful trip put the score tied at 44. Keith Gee poked a ball loose giving Jayden Lawrence a fastbreak layup at 14:14. The Pride offense went on a short run with Lawerence, Musonge, and Bright points to take a five point lead. Bright put in a quick four with a free throw and triple at 7:51. The Bright train continued to push the senior to 40 with the final 12 points being credited. The Pride fell 81-74.
