CHESTER, Pa. - The Widener University Field Hockey team delivered on both ends of the field, shutting out Albright 3–0 in a dominant performance.
The Pride improves to 9-6 overall and advances to 2-3 in MAC Commonwealth action.

The Pride opened the match with high intensity. Widener fired off multiple early shots, including back-to-back attempts from Megan Bryk and Brie Mallozzi, forcing several key saves from Albright's goalkeeper. Their persistence paid off at the 13:22 mark when Armstrong found the back of the cage off a setup from Mallozzi, putting the Pride ahead 1–0.

Widener carried its momentum into the second period. The Pride earned multiple penalty corners early on, with Bryk and Krista Bervinchak consistently setting up scoring opportunities. Karly Bervinchak and Alex Quartapella led a relentless attack, combining for several shots on goal, but Albright's keeper managed to turn them away. Mallozzi nearly extended the lead with a strike that rattled off the post, keeping the score at 1–0.

Widener maintained its defensive composure and continued to push offensively in the third period. The Pride drew another penalty corner midway through the frame, setting up a solid scoring chance that Armstrong nearly converted before an Albright save kept the score unchanged. Krista Bervinchak remained a key facilitator on corners, while Arwen Fithian and the Widener back line limited Albright to just one wide attempt in the quarter. Just two minutes later, Haye added to the momentum, converting a feed from Karly Bervinchak to make it 3–0. The Pride kept the pressure on with several penalty corners and quality shots, forcing multiple saves from Albright's keeper. Behind a composed defense and sharp offensive execution, Widener closed out the shutout to secure their second straight win.
