CHESTER, Pa. - The Widener Field Hockey team found the back of the cage six times to soar past Eastern, taking home a 6–2 victory.
The Pride improves to 10-6 overall and advances to 3-3 in MAC Commonwealth action.

Widener came out strong to open the game, maintaining early offensive pressure with multiple penalty corners and shots on goal from Kayleigh Armstrong and Mallozzi that were stopped by Eastern's goalkeeper. The Pride finally broke through when Karly Bervinchak netted her 10th goal of the season, putting Widener ahead 1–0. Eastern responded quickly, capitalizing on a late opportunity, to even the match at 1–1 heading into the second quarter.

The Pride carried its momentum into the second quarter. After a penalty corner early in the period, Mallozzi converted a penalty stroke to reclaim the lead for the Pride. Less than a minute later, Cenci found the back of the cage off an assist from Karly Bervinchak, extending Widener's advantage to 3–1. The Pride's attack stayed relentless, and at 24:59, Gieser tallied her first goal of the season to make it 4–1 heading into halftime. Goalie Arwen Fithian anchored the defense with a pair of key saves to keep the Eagles from closing the gap.

Eastern struck early in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 4–2. Widener quickly answered back, as Cenci notched her second goal of the game just under a minute later to push the Pride's lead to 5–2. The offense continued to press, earning multiple penalty corners and forcing several saves from the Eastern goalkeeper, while Fithian stood tall in the cage for Widener with key stops of her own. The Pride maintained control through the remainder of the period, carrying their three-goal advantage into the final frame.

The Pride maintained their strong defensive shape and controlled possession down the stretch, sealing a dominant 6–2 victory to close out the matchup.
