CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Women's soccer secures conference win over the Hood College Blazer with late goal.
The Pride are now 5-4-3 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both sides battled for control early, with Hood testing Widener goalkeeper Araba Abanyie three times in the opening 10 minutes. The first-year keeper came up big with saves to keep the match scoreless. Widener began generating pressure midway through the half. Erin Quinn and Giovanna Chaves each forced saves from Hood's goalkeeper, while Abby Picollo saw a close-range effort stopped late in the period. Despite outshooting Hood 6–3, the Pride entered the break tied 0–0.
- The Pride continued to control possession and earned several corner kicks in the early minutes. After Hood missed wide on an early second-half attempt, Widener broke through in the 75th minute when Erin Quinn found the back of the net off a clean assist from Gracelyn Sarni, giving the Pride a 1–0 lead. Abanyie preserved the advantage with a clutch save in the 84th minute as Widener's defense shut the door for the final minutes to give them 1-0 win over the Blazers
