The Double-Doubles Continue in a Win Over Ursinus

Stackhouse is also making scoring strides

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Widener Women's Basketball starts hot back from break, grabbing a 70-65 win over the Ursinus Bears. 

The Pride (currently 6-4) and remain 0-0 in conference play. 

BY THE NUMBERS 

  • Mia Robbins continues to amaze, dropping another double-double game with 20 points and 10 rebounds. 

  • Lindsay Kutz would also put up yet another double-double in this game, finishing with 12 points,10 rebounds and six assists. 

  • Riley Stackhouse would be second on the team with 13 points and 6/11 shooting. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Kimberly Casiello would get things going for the Pride, grabbing a steal then assisting the ball to Lindsay Kutz on the fastbreak as Widener would score first in the game. Riley Stackhouse and Mia Robbins would find the bottom of the net with their jump shots, and another Kutz bucket would put the Pride up 13-10. The quarter would end with a pair of threes for Kaitlyn Kearney as Widener would hold a 21-15 lead after a quarter of play. 

  • The second quarter would start with a Robbins turn-around jumper and a Mary McFillin three as the Pride led 26-18. Stackhouse and Avalynn Baer would hit big shots down the stretch, and two Robbins free throws would give the Pride a 34-28 lead at half. 

  • Kutz and Robbins would dominate in the third quarter, scoring eight of the first ten points for Widener in the quarter. The Bears would also have a strong quarter, catching fire behind the arc, but Baer's five straight points and two Kutz free throws would keep the lead at 55-48 after three. 

  • Ursinus would come in hot, cutting the lead down to two at 57-54. Widener would get some tough scores in the paint, but the Bears would score eight straight to put the score at 68-65. 

UP NEXT 

The Pride will return home for their first conference game of the season as the face the 4-7 (0-0 MAC Commonwealth) Blazers of Hood.
